About Wells Cathedral School
Wells Cathedral School provides an inspiring education set in a musically alive and beautiful environment as a brilliant foundation for life.
It is an internationally renowned Specialist Music School and one of four supported by the DCFS Music and Dance Scheme, each providing world-class music training from the elite of the profession.
Wells is the only one of these schools in which its gifted musicians are trained and educated within the structure of a conventional, co-educational day and boarding school of 800 pupils aged from 3 to 18 years.
Our belief at Wells is that talented children should not be isolated from children with other interests. It is basic to our philosophy that our specialists should grow as balanced human beings whilst they develop as musicians.
'One cannot fail to be impressed by the Wells Music Department. There is so much variety and yet the opportunity to specialise and prepare for the challenge and enjoyment of a career in music. I would encourage any parent to choose Wells Cathedral School for their talented musical son or daughter' - Peter Manning, Concertmaster, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
