About The Hammond School
Set in the outskirts of the historic City of Chester, the Hammond is one of only 9 vocational secondary schools in Britain designated as Centres of Excellence by the UK Government, receiving bursary funding for talented pupils, regardless of background, under the Music and Dance Scheme.
The Hammond is special because of the acknowledged dedication of pupils and staff in the pursuit of excellence whether in the classroom or studio. This dedication has ensured that The Hammond has a place amongst the leading schools specialising in the field of dance, providing pupils with an education and training at the highest level in all aspects of the curriculum.
Our 16+ options include a 6th Form Drama course with A Levels, in addition to our Musical Theatre and Dance Diplomas.
Our facilities include a Performing Arts Centre with flexible performance space, lighting and seating for over 400, 3 purpose built Dance studios plus Drama studio also with full lighting rig, reception and dining areas. We also have a new Music Faculty that includes AppleMac computer suite, individual practice rooms and recording studio.
Four new recently completed purpose built Dance studios are now available for our students.
