New Percussion Suite
Monday 25th January 2010
Percussion pupils at Wells Cathedral School are delighted with the new state of the art Percussion Suite that has been built in the basement of Cedars during the summer holidays and have been enjoying practice sessions in the revamped space.
The pristine new suite has been designed, installed and fully kitted out with brand new instruments over the school holidays by local Wells parents Mr and Mrs Foster, who felt that they wanted to give something back to the Percussion department at school.
Mrs Foster said “Time is a very precious commodity and the Wells Percussion team give a lot of time and energy to the pupils. We wanted to give something back, so that even more children can continue to flourish and excel in a discipline that they love. The project has been hard work, but it's been a real pleasure to do and we hope that the new suite inspires more children to produce top quality music.”
Wells Head of Percussion, Jayne Obradovic, added “The new facilities are stunning and we are extremely grateful to Mr and Mrs Foster for their hard work and generosity over the summer. The suite is a big hit and has been filled with budding young musicians since the start of term!”
